Biryani is a dish that mixes aromatic spices with rice and combination of veggies or meat. It is quite popular across the Indian subcontinent and it is one-pot mean. It is so delicious that you cannot refrain youself from indulging in its mouth watering taste. Biryani with raita is a perfect meal option. Biryani was brought to india by Arab and Mughal emperors and then it bloomed in India, into multiple versions depending on region. These versions vary by the type of rice, the vegetables used and the type of meat used! But, still the end-product is super yummy 🤤.
While preparing biryani rice and vegetables/meat are cooked separately - though not completely but partially. And then we arrange them in layers one above the other in a pot with thick base and later cover the pot with heavy lid.
Generally, a hell lot of ghee is used while preparing biryani and hence some people consider it to be unhealthy. But, as our primary goal is to cook healthy and yet tasty food, I am going to share a healthy version of the recipe 😉. You dont need to stock up your kitchen for this dish and you can prepare it quite often too! Let's get started...
